I’ve always been a Balmain fan for its edgier vibe that falls right in line with my style. So when this blazer first launched in 2012, I immediately fell in love with it, but couldn’t convince myself to make the investment. Instead, I’d look for budget-friendly alternatives that mirrored the beautiful tailoring only to find myself craving for the real deal. When I finally got around to trying on Balmain’s classic double breasted blazer, I finally understood what the hype was about. The military-inspired design, sharp tailoring, and exquisite wool fabric all come together for a timeless and versatile look. It definitely has a dressier vibe that makes your outfits appear super well-thought out when it’s actually just the blazer.

Flawless Fit

When splurging on any designer piece, fit is always one of the biggest selling points for me. It’s often hard to find a blazer that properly fits my petite frame at all, so I was surprised at how snug the Balmain blazer was. When we think about investment pieces, handbags and shoes often come to mind, but a timeless jacket that you’ll wear over and over is also splurge-worthy. A quick run through my blog will show you that this jacket can be worn with just about anything. You guys have seen me style it with a fitted dress, denim cutoffs, leather trousers, summer shorts, and distressed jeans. It goes seamlessly from day to night and works for every season or occasion.
