The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens up to Ambassadors today, so I wanted to share some styling ideas for one of my favorite pieces in the sale: faux leather leggings! I purchased both the Spanx and Commando faux leather leggings at full price a few years back – and they’ve become fall and winter staples. I love that they’re flattering, comfortable, and stylish so you can easily keep them on rotation. Both styles are included in this year’s NSale for just under $65 (originally $98), so I wanted to share all the different ways you can wear them to make your purchase worthwhile.

1. Moto Jacket, Oversized Sweater & Animal Print Sneakers

The Spanx faux leather leggings have a slightly athleisure vibe to them since they’re a true legging with a little texture and a sheen. So, I love dressing them down with casual pieces like sneakers and a baseball cap. You can throw on a leather moto jacket for a touch of cool.

2. All Black With a Plaid Coat & Combat Boots

Given the super stretchy nature of the Spanx leggings, they fit really tight and suck everything in, so I prefer to style them with a longer tunic sweater. Adding a longline plaid coat and combat boots make the leggings look really chic and effortless.

3. Basic Tee, Cardigan & Sneakers

As we transition into fall, the Spanx leggings are a great piece to throw into the mix since they’re quite thin and lightweight. You can style them with your comfiest basic tee and a light cardigan to wear around the house. And if you need a quick errands outfit, just throw on some clean white sneakers.

If you’re going for a cool, edgy look, you’ll have an infinite amount of outfit combinations to pick from. I love going for all black with a touch of white. It’s casual and comfy but still put together.

5. Waterfall Coat, Tunic Sweater & Over-The-Knee Boots

The Commando faux leather leggings differ from the Spanx in that they look dressier and have a genuine leather pants vibe to them. That said, they are warmer and ideal for creating layered looks once the temperatures dip. One of my go-to fall outfit combos is a tunic sweater paired with over-the-knee boots. It’s so chic and feminine and would work for any occasion.

6. Chunky Knit & Combat Boots

You can dress down the Commando leggings too. Simply pair it with a chunky knit sweater and combat boots. This outfit is perfect for early and mid fall when you can get away with light layers.

Over-the-knee boots and faux leather leggings are a pairing you can never go wrong with. You can easily switch up the look by changing out your coat, wearing a different sweater, and playing with head gear.

8. Moto Jacket, Basic Tee & Combat Boots

I love creating various all-black outfits with my faux leather leggings. One of my style tricks to keeping it fresh is to wear a different color jacket. This outfit is loaded with leather, but the blue-gray colored jacket tones down the heavy look. I’d definitely wear this outfit on the weekends.

9. Camel Coat, Turtleneck Sweater & Mule Loafers

The Commando leggings are also perfect if you have classic style. To create a sophisticated casual look, pair them with a clean camel coat, turtleneck sweater, and mule loafers. This is an outfit you can wear any day of the week in the fall.
