You guys already know that I’m a huge advocate of wardrobe basics, but there’s one that’s particularly trendy this season. It’s the white button-down shirt. I’m definitely here for it since this staple is endlessly stylish and versatile. Whether you want to dress yours up for the office or need a simple top to pair with that trendy skirt, it always comes in handy. Perhaps the best part about it is that you can wear it for years to come regardless of your age. To show just how versatile my favorite staples is, I wanted to share 7 ways you can style it right now.

1. Tucked into Denim Cutoffs
It might seem like anything goes when it comes to denim, but a white button-down shirt will help polish it up. I love how effortlessly chic it looks tucked in with a designer belt. Easy loafers will dress down the combo, but you can also spice it up with a pair of heels.

2. Tied at the Waist with a Skirt
A tucked-in white button-down can easily come off too corporate looking, which is why I’ll often tie mine at the waist. This works on top of any skirt or dress – and makes this classic piece feel much more trend forward.

3. Buttoned Over Leggings
If you’re looking for a chic weekend attire, try styling an oversized white button-down shirt on top of leggings. This simple combination looks incredibly chic with booties, flats, or heels. If it feels too basic, you can always pile on accessories like a trendy fedora.

4. Pulled Off the Shoulder With Denim
Sometimes, all you need is a bit of styling to make a button-down shirt feel new. I love pulling mine off the shoulder for a modern yet sexy look.

An off-beat tuck can also make a huge difference. I love playing with an undone, half-tuck to channel that cool-girl vibe. It makes a high visual impact with basic denim.
