We are finally finished with all of our home renovations and I couldn’t be happier to start sharing some of my favorite projects with you guys. This past fall we completed an exterior renovation which was the last major project left on our list. To be honest, we’re super happy to be done, but I’m getting a little anxious now that there’s really no more remodeling to be done. I love designing and decorating so much, but the last few years of renovations have been pretty exhausting too. We’ve lived in our home for six years now and we have updated every single inch of it. To-date, I’ve shared posts of the renovations of our kitchen, living room, master bathroom, family room, home office, my closet/office and I’ll be sharing our bedroom makeover soon too! 

Today I’m sharing one of the most asked about spaces in our home – our front entryway. I take my mirror selfies in our entryway and our piano room and I always get so many questions about the decor featured. We remodeled our entryway this past year and it’s one of my favorite places in our home. One thing we loved about our house when we first saw it was the two-story entryway.

Wall Mouldings

We added the wall mouldings in our entryway four years ago now, but we added more to our piano room more recently. We both love Parisian-inspired decor and the wall mouldings really bring that classic feel to our home. We worked with Metrie mouldings to select the right profile and then I mapped everything out on our walls and hired a carpenter to install the design. It was quite the process, but I knew exactly what I wanted which made the installation pretty foolproof. 

Custom Doors & Hardware

This past year, we replaced all of the doors and hardware throughout our home and it made such a difference. Our circle doors are made by a company called Woodgrain and I highly recommend them. You can find a dealer near you through this link. Their doors are such great quality.

Our door hardware is from Grandeur Hardware and it’s in a classic polished nickel finish. I absolutely love polished nickel – it’s timeless and elegant. We went with door levers versus knobs and I’m so glad we did. It’s so much easier to open doors when your hands are full.

Our exterior door is also made by Woodgrain. I love the windows which give added light to our entryway. The hardware on that door is by Grandeur and we opted for a bronze finish to match our home’s exterior. 

Minimalist Decor

This black and white art is often asked about on Instagram. We got it from Minted years ago and it’s been in so many of the rooms of our home, but it finally ended up in our entryway across from the piano. It really brings a modern touch to the space. I love white pedestals for displaying sculptures and floral arrangements – we have several scattered throughout our home. 

Wood Floors

I often get asked about our hardwood floors so I wanted to provide as many details as possible. Throughout our main floor, we selected a wirebrushed 5″ white oak floor with a custom stain from Musolf’s here in the Twin Cities. The custom stain mix is Silvered Grey and Naturale. The chevron floor in our piano room is finished in the same stain, but we went with white oak #1 in 4″ x 24″ planks. We loved the way it turned out – it makes such a statement in that room.
