Today marks the first day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for all Nordstrom cardholders, and it’s one of the most exciting times to shop! I’m sure you guys have seen and heard so much about the NSale up to this point, so I wanted to share something a little different. Instead of pulling all my favorite pieces from the sale, I’ve decided to curate a fall capsule wardrobe with some key pieces that are currently in stock. Outerwear

You can never have too many coats or jackets in the fall and winter. I recommend grabbing one tailored coat or a moto jacket, a faux fur or shearling style, and a blazer. You’ll be able to keep those three styles on rotation all season long. My plaid blazer is selling really fast, but my favorite faux leather jacket from the sale is still in stock in all sizes. I love how soft the material feels and the oversized zippers.

Knitwear

No fall wardrobe is complete without some great knitwear. Cozy cardigans are definitely an essential, and there are still so many great pieces in stock, like this Madewell one. It comes in four colors, but sticking to neutrals like gray or beige will give you the most wear. I’m also loving slouchy sweaters and more fitted styles that are suitable for an office environment.

Basic Tops

Layering tops and tees will always serve you well in the fall whether you’re layering up or need a casual off-duty tee. I’m currently loving all the camisole styles that you can wear now and into late fall too!

Denim

I only purchase a few pairs of jeans during the NSALE every year – and it’s usually a basic black or blue wash – or a fun fashion style. As far as trendier denim goes, you can’t go wrong this year with adding a few gray washes to your wardrobe.

Bottoms

Even though I’m a denim girl at heart, I always like to have a few different bottoms to rotate through whether it’s a pair of faux leather leggings, a leather skirt, or trousers. Since fall is all about interesting textures, you’ll definitely want to pick up this Leith skirt!

Shoes…

There are so many great shoes in this year’s NSALE – and so many are still in stock! But honestly, you don’t need every single pair. If you grab one pair of over-the-knee boots, ankle boots, sneakers, and a pair of flats, you’re basically set for the season. I always love the Stuart Weitzman OTK boots that are included in the sale, especially since you can wear them as a slouchy boots too! If you’re not sure what to buy, take stock of what’s currently missing from your wardrobe and fill in there.
