It was my first time at NYFW and it was definitely an experience I’lll always remember. This past year of blogging has been such a journey and I feel so fortunate to be getting to experience events like this that I’ve always dreamed of attending. I have to give a lot of credit to Phil for making things happen. What you don’t see from a lot of bloggers is all of the work that goes on behind the scenes to make NYFW a success, but he was such a big help to me and without him I don’t know how I would have handled all of it.

Here are my top 5 favorite things about my experience at New York Fashion Week:

  1. Experiencing The Shows: The production value of the shows varied from show to show. Some of the most raved about shows were the Rebecca Minkoff and Tommy Hilfiger shows which were set in unique locations (RM closed down a street and TH held a carnival on a pier). The Todashi Shoji show was one of the most theatrical more typical runway shows that I attended. I loved all of the stunning, flowing dresses. See my Snapchat video below for more!
  2. Meeting My Favorite Bloggers: I think I enjoy meeting my favorite bloggers more than my favorite celebrities because most are actually really nice and want to get to know you too! My favorite bloggers that I met were Christine of Hello Fashion Blog, Xenia of Xenia Overdose, Erica of Fashioned Chic and Emily Gemma of The Sweetest Thing. They were all so sweet and it makes me love them more!
  3. Sightseeing: It was fun to sneak in sightseeing between shows and meetings. Thank God for Uber which – although scoring one in NYC is way tougher than anywhere else – did come in handy for longer trips. I had never been to Brooklyn before this trip. We went to the Refinery 29 party in Brooklyn one night and went back to Brooklyn during the day to capture some photos of the Manhattan bridge and the skyline. I definitely want to spend more time in Brooklyn on my next NYC trip!
  4. Shopping: Even though I brought a well-edited and freshly tailored collection of clothes with me, I inevitably went shopping and wore nearly none of the clothes I had packed. Whenever I travel to NYC, I usually stay in Midtown. While most of the Fashion Week events were in Soho and the Meatpacking District, it was nice to stay near 5th Avenue so I could sneak shopping. I partnered with Cambria Hotels & Suites in Times Square and had an incredible stay. We were a short walk to Central Park, Times Square and 5th Avenue.
  5. Eating!: Besides NYC pizza, brunch is my favorite thing about the NYC food scene because there are SO many cute spots with the best food. My two favorite spots were Sarabeth’s on Central Park and Bagatelle in Soho. I had the french toast at both places and it was amazing!
